So i thought I would update the family on how I would be charging everyone for their hair from now on bc im sure everyone was just on the edge of their seats wanting to know...lol...Ive calculated some ideas and tossed some ideas around with other stylists and my mom and I think what seems like a very good deal and easy to do is to just charge everyone the same flat rate. Basically I am going to charge everyone $75.00 no matter WHAT they get done. I think this all works out well in the end. So if you what Base color, highlight and haircut its 75.00....If you want highlight and haircut its $75.00. This is around what most of the girls do for their immediate family at work(even tho some scums still charge their family's full pull. sooo sad. lol) It seemed easier to do it this way than to have separate costs for each and every service. obviously, if someone JUST wants a haircut Im not going to charge you over what I normally charge. We can work something out. And if anyone wants another service including Kerastase treatments, extensions, or the Brazilian Blowout, product costs are far more expensive and will need to be figured, but even on those items I will not be charging anywhere near full pull. Anyways....this is JUST for my family...Im not giving this deal to ANYONE else...not even my closest friends or even roommates! BUT...I am starting out my own business which i know is going to be very hard so i would LOVE it if anyone sent me new business!!!! here is a list of my actual pricing just fyi....

I will be coming up with some gift certificates and brochures to be handing out to new clients and would love it if people handed them out to friends and family...will keep you updated :)

ReplyDeleteHere's the bottom line; I'm bald. I have a receding hairline and a big yamakah bald spot on the back. At Dave Merrick proportions.
So unfortunately there just isn't much I can do.
One thing I've noticed is that Tony Soprano has cool hair. He is fat, old, and bald, and yet still manages to have cool hair. Examine a pick of him if you don't know what he looks like.
All he really does is slick his hair almost straight back, at least as far as I can tell, and I've tried to do that and it doesn't work. For some annoying reason, all the hairs on the top of my head won't slick back no matter what I do, they just stick up in all directions, mostly straight up.
So what can I do to make my hair slick back. I need to get a Tony Soprano feel going.
Sounds good to me! And yes your right my head is turning somewhat horrid and for the first time since you started doing my hair I broke down and cut my bangs.... Donna

And to be perfectly honest, I would even know WHERE to start with something like that. lol. and OBVIOUSLY any hair things would be on me. LEt me know bc I would really really love it! :)

and to define a brazilian blowout( i LOVE that you knew what this was by the way john...) It is a protein based product that Relaxes some of your curl, gets rid of ALL friz, cuts your blowdry time in half, and repairs damage...It is semi-permanent so it is guarenteed to last in ur hair for 3 months, however, the less you was ur hair it could stay in ur hair for up to 5 months, and its cumulative, so the more you do it the longer it stays in. Right now Im doing a special for my clients for 100 dollars off the original price. And I would be skeptical about it except for that ive SEEN it on peoples heads and it truely is UNBELIEVEABLE...this is PERFECT for people like Mel, Michelle, even Diane. Not so good for My mom, or donna, because you two dont really have much friz and no curl. :)
You need to tell me where the brochure is going, is it a mailer, is it something you hand out to existing customers, what are you using it for. All you need then is some pictures and we'll discuss a general strategy for "Brand Jessica" and then it will all happen pretty fast. And we'll print a few up and it should be easy. We can discuss web presence as well.

Something with like my price list on it and like a 30 dollar giftcard attached to it somehow. pictures, Im not sure what to put on...We have a website(that really sucks) but if you want to check it out, its studio486.com and we have a myspace page(which is in my top friends.lol) Howevere, i want the brocure to be directly towards me as we are all independent contractors...Im all up for ideas and opinions as I am a complete clown and have NO idea what Im doing. lol. Jess, did you keep track of EVERY person whose hair you ever did?? If so, then you could send out a mailer to ALL of them complete with a coupon etc.....Who gets the walk ins now?? As far as pics go....I'm telling you that pic of Mel's head at the wedding would be perfect under a weddings and special occasion heading....and we could take one of hers for the Brazillion thing too....it looks like a stun.....pics add a lot I think.....and then put your website address on mailers and people can have it and show it around....websites are the way to advertise....I may have to talk to you about all of this....too much I am thinking of to write....
